AIn the Lilienfeld municipal office there are various distributions of tasks and responsibilities. A third class from the Lilienfeld State Vocational School was now able to find out exactly what these are.
In most schools in Austria, political education is taught as a combined subject together with economics, law or history. This is different in vocational school. There, political education is an independent subject.
A third class from the state vocational school (LBS) Lilienfeld, accompanied by specialist teacher Viktoria Hagenauer and director Gerald Müllner, visited the Lilienfeld municipal office as part of the lesson planning.
Mayor Manuel Aichberger first explained to the interested students about the tasks and responsibilities of the municipal administration, then gave insights into Lilienfeld’s local politics and was finally available to answer questions. Afterwards there was a tour of the official premises of the various departments, such as the registry office, building authority or city administration.
“Young people are definitely interested in politics. That’s why I’m always happy to talk to students, whether from elementary school or vocational school. It is always important to me to point out the importance of democratic processes and the importance of exercising the right to vote,” emphasizes Mayor Manuel Aichberger.
