According to Lilienblog information, SV Darmstadt 98 has neither an offer for striker Isac Lidberg, nor has a club expressed interest in the Lilies for the Swedish attacker.
The media had previously reported a possible interest from TSG 1899 Hoffenheim after the Hoffenheim sports director Frank Kramer was spotted at the Böllenfalltor in the first half of Darmstadt’s game against Hertha BSC.
The fact is, however, that a number of representatives and scouts from other clubs are at the Böllenfalltor every game. When the Lilies are not playing, Paul Fernie and his staff are also at other stadiums.
Lilies are not under pressure
There is no question that Lidberg, who currently leads the top scorers list in the second division with nine goals in ten appearances, is interesting for other clubs. At SV Darmstadt 98, however, they are not willing to let go of the Swede, who was only signed by Dutch first division club FC Utrecht in mid-August.
Since Lidberg reportedly has a contract that extends beyond the end of the season, the Lilies are not under pressure to act anyway and could react if an extremely lucrative offer actually came in.
Dursun and Pfeiffer were not allowed to leave either
In recent years, the club has repeatedly shown itself to be tough on top performers who are willing to leave. For Serdar Dursun and Patric Pfeiffer, they insisted on the fulfillment of their contracts because the existing offers were considered lower than the sporting value that the players had for the team.
In the end, a transfer fee was waived, but Dursun became top scorer in 2021 and defender Pfeiffer played a significant role in the Bundesliga promotion in 2023. And given the sensational development that Lidberg has had with the Lilies, a change is currently extremely unlikely.
