Jakarta –
Deputy Chairperson’s ethical violation case KPK Lili Pintauli Siregar was highlighted by the United States (US) in the Report on Human Rights Practices (HAM) in Indonesia. The Indonesian Anti-Corruption Society (MAKI) mocked Lili with a thick face.
“Thick face Lili Pintauli Siregar So the international community is laughing because they have been convicted of violating the code of ethics but still doing it again and again,” said MAKI Coordinator Boyamin Saiman to reporters, Friday (15/4/2022).
He also considered that the US considered Lili’s behavior as something unusual. Because, he said, Lili remained in office even though she had violated the code of ethics.
“So why then did America spotlight on Lili Pintauli Siregar’s behavior, according to them it was something strange, something odd, something unusual where a state official violated the code of ethics but did not back down,” he said.
Boyamin said the US is a developed country which really cares about the behavior of its officials. So, he said, US officials have integrity by not violating the code of ethics.
“For modern state standards, it is related to the integrity of its officials, one of which is that integrity does not violate the code of ethics, does not violate any applicable norms or is considered good by the community,” said Boyamin.
“Well, the United States, one of the developed and modern countries, really cares about the behavior of its leaders, including in this case eradicating corruption is not violating the code of ethics,” he added.
Boyamin asked Lili to resign from her position. According to Boyamin, Lili’s position in the KPK has become useless.
“That’s why I once again urge, ask, demand Mrs. Lili to immediately resign from the KPK because this will continue to be in the spotlight of other countries, and the spotlight of the Indonesian people as well. Because of Mrs. Lili then her position becomes useless and not useful for the KPK,” he said.
