TRIBUNNEWS.COM, JAKARTA – Deputy Chairperson of the Indonesian House of Representatives Commission IX, Melki Laka Lena, revealed that a number of leaders and members of Commission IX of the House of Representatives were confirmed positive for Covid-19.
In fact, not only that, the families of the members of Commission IX were also infected with the Corona virus.
Melki also said that the members of Commission IX of the DPR also felt what the community was experiencing, namely the difficulty of getting an isolation room that a hospital (RS) would treat.
“The big family of the Commission IX leadership and some members are also positive and being treated plus many family friends who support the big family of Commission IX who are also exposed and experienced as all parties experience the difficulty of getting isolation rooms, hospital rooms and some eventually died,” said Melki in his statement to Tribunnews.com, Thursday (1/7/2021).
Melki also requested that health workers from various professional organizations and educational institutions under the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Education and Culture, Local Government or the private sector should be properly coordinated by the Ministry of Health through PPSDM as well as Provincial Health Offices and City/Regency Health Offices so that the workload can be divided proportionally.
In addition, to ensure that health services at the first and further health facilities (Faskes) will continue to run, both for the handling of Covid-19 and other diseases, which must be considered and given serious attention
For example, patients on dialysis, tuberculosis, heart disease, stroke, cancer who still need serious attention, the distribution of health workers must be properly regulated by the relevant parties.
“Don’t let Covid-19 patients or other diseases not receive health services, whether they are self-isolated at home, centralized isolation or being treated at health facilities,” said Melki.
He also said that the support of medical devices such as oxygen cylinders and ventilators as well as medicines needed to treat Covid-19 patients needed to be properly regulated.
“So that health workers in the field can work optimally to help Covid-19 patients being treated. Medical equipment and medicines for other diseases also need to be ensured that they are available to ensure that health workers also continue to serve patients with other diseases well,” he explained.
