“Like at War”: Research and the Military on Israel’s Anti-Corona Front

The army and start-ups work hand in hand to fight the corona epidemic and save lives.

Mike Pompeo won’t have to worry about an exemption if the U.S. Secretary of State sets off for the first foreign trip in weeks and is about to land at Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv these days. The chief diplomat’s visit is a signal for Israel’s new government, which is due to be awarded on Thursday – and for its plan to annex Jewish settlements in the West Bank and the Jordan Valley from July 1.

A 14-day quarantine is now mandatory for Israeli citizens who are now returning home. Israel even provides its own hotels and pays for them.
As in the beginning of the corona crisis, Israel has developed a sophisticated system for phase 2. There are mobile test stations everywhere, where everyone can be tested immediately and get informed within 24 hours by SMS or email.
