Like a Sunday on the banks of the Eure

With family, friends or alone, the strollers were looking for the freshness and relaxation of the holidays, while the thermometer indicated around thirty degrees.
A summer heat which encouraged the Chartrains to come and relax in the Bords-de-l’Eure park, where the shade of the trees and the river brought a certain freshness.

“We came for a picnic with a pizza and an ice cream by the water. Here, my daughter can play golf, ride a bike, climb trees… We take advantage of it,” smiles Élodie, lying on a blanket.

Lulled by the rustling of the wind in the foliage of the trees, and by the lapping of the river, others prefer to indulge in a Sunday siesta. “It’s the holidays, we’re taking a siesta,” explains Monique.

Not far from there, a tree shades the reading of a young man, and the lawn supports the sunny rest of a young woman.

Children run, laugh, slide on the toboggan, sometimes argue too, but if there are tears, the sun dries them quickly.

Joseph and his son have fun flying a big polystyrene plane. “We live in an apartment, so the park is like our garden. It’s better there than at home, the light wind does us good. And above all, it allows the plane to hover for a long time and to make nice tricks,” laughs Joseph.

And then there are the athletes who take advantage of the sun to sail on the Eure. When some prefer to work their legs and choose a pedal boat, others use the strength of their arms and opt for a canoe. The ducks are used to it, they watch the boats go by and share their river.
