Genoa – The regional council has approved the modification of the criteria with which Ligurian families will be able to access the vouchers provided for by the Mise national ultra-broadband call, extending the audience of possible beneficiaries to the entire regional territory.
Vouchers are aimed at providing a contribution for the purchase of connectivity and digitization (500 euros for Isee up to 20 thousand euros). The criterion originally established by the regional council, in May 2020, was to favor resident families of the inland municipalities, to stimulate investments in internal areas not covered by the service and less attractive for private operators. As a result of this choice, various wireless operators have proceeded to invest in infrastructures to guarantee coverage of large internal areas and therefore to guarantee the service offer. However, the applications for vouchers from these areas, very limited to date, led to the choice of widening the audience of possible applicants to families from all over the region.
The resolution approved by the Executive will trigger the publication of the notice by the Mise with new criteria for disbursement of the remaining available resources. The extension of the criteria from a territorial point of view is aimed at not losing the opportunity to provide these loans, allowing a larger part of the population to use them, without prejudice to the Isee limit and the capacity of national funds that in the allocation for the Liguria amounted to 2.8 million as the first tranche.
