Bad news for Grenoble. Due to the work to redo the lawn of the Stade des Alpes, the GF38 will have to play its first two matches of the season of League 2 at home … at Gueugnon in a fallback stage. The Isère club, for example, had asked the LFP to start its championship away from home when the calendar was being drawn up. A request rejected since Grenoble will receive Paris FC for the launch of the 2021-2022 edition on July 24. The match against Guingamp on August 7 will also be relocated.

TWO RELOCATED MATCHES IN GUEUGNON!
If the work of the Stade des Alpes progresses in the best possible way, the GF38 will still have to relocate for its first two games of the season at home.https://t.co/ZxQtTvzEDf pic.twitter.com/hT4sSVvqfd

« The club sought the best possible solution by taking into account the specifications necessary for the approval of a Ligue 2 BKT match (lighting, visitor stand, surveillance video, etc.). Faced with the limited choices in the region (stadiums already occupied or not approved) the only solution fell on the Jean Laville stadium in Gueugnon. The GF38 would like to thank the FC Gueugnon club and its General Manager Christophe Noluveau as well as the City of Gueugnon and its sports assistant Christophe Trivino for their collaboration », Indicates the GF38 in its press release.
