Ligue 2: Sébastien Desabre new coach of Niort

Sébastien Desabre, technician recognized in Africa where he officiated for a decade, has been appointed for two seasons to coach Niort (L2), where he succeeds Franck Passi, announced the L2 club on Tuesday. Sébastien Desabre, 43 years old and from Drôme, has never coached a French professional club. His only experience in dates back to 2006 when he took charge of ESC Rocheville (Alpes-Maritimes) which he had brought up from the first district division (9th division) to CFA 2 (5th division) in four seasons.

For ten years, Desabre was mainly known on the African continent where he was in charge of eight club teams in eight different countries, with many trophies won. He was also the coach of Uganda which he led in the round of 16 of CAN 2019. In Niort, he replaces Franck Passi who did not wish to renew his contract, preferring to accompany Laurent Blanc in the future project of the former PSG coach, the content of which is not known.
