Four late matches were played this Tuesday evening in Ligue 2, with significant consequences at the top and bottom of the table!
Valenciennes torpedo Nancy
It was a match of paramount importance for Nancy who had the opportunity to come back to within four points of a direct opponent for the maintenance in the event of victory at Valenciennes this Tuesday evening in a late match in Ligue 2. But the ASNL has lived through a real nightmare in the North and is heading straight for National 1 with a very, very heavy defeat (6-1). In 20 minutes, Sambou Yatabaré had already struck twice for an unleashed and finally realistic VA at home. Subsequently, Karamoko was excluded (25th) while Cuffaut increased the score from the penalty spot.
If Biron reduced the gap, the first period ended with a score of 5-1 in favor of Christophe Delmotte’s men with new achievements from Guillaume then Hamache. In the second half, the former Lensois and Lille also offered himself a double. A success that allows the VAFC to breathe better and leave the place of play-off at the bottom of the table in Grenoble.
Paris wins Auxerre
At the top of the table, the shock of the evening between Auxerre and Paris FC was exciting. If the club from the capital started the match best, it was AJA who were clinical in their first situation with the 13th goal of Charbonnier, served by Perrin (1-0, 15th). Nîmes makes the pass of three, Niort sinks Dunkirk
In the two other matches played this Tuesday evening, the Nimes Olympic confirms its good form with a third victory in a row and therefore still a 100% success rate for Nicolas Usai since taking office on the Crocos bench. This time, the Gardois succeeded in imposing themselves on the difficult lawn of Pau. The light came in the second half of Koné, Benrahou on penalty and Omarsson in added time (0-3) for a success that puts Nîmes just six points behind the Top 5!
At last, Niort He too continues on his excellent momentum and comes back to within three lengths of the Top 5! This time it’s Dunkerque who suffered the lightning with achievements of Boutobba and Merdji in the second half (2-0). The USLD therefore sinks in the company of Nancy in these last two places to absolutely avoid at the end of the season…
