Ligue 2 – Grenoble returns to success, Niort stalls again

The ranking of the League 2 is now completely up to date. At the top of the table, Niort misses the opportunity to put pressure on the Top 5. At the bottom of the table, Grenoble on the other hand, gives itself a little air and leaves the relegation zone to go back to the play-off position with a success this Tuesday (1-0) in a late match of the 22nd day.

No longer be relegated. This was Grenoble’s objective at the start of this late match against Niort on Tuesday evening at the Stade des Alpes. For this, the GF38 had to return to victory, something that had not happened since November 6 in the league. Moreover, coach Vincent Hognon had not yet been successful either since taking office. It is now over! Because the Isérois obtained three very precious points in front of their public (1-0) with a goal from the essential Loïc Nestor on a set piece, served by Yoric Ravet just after returning from the locker room in the second half.

Niort stalls again

In the first, Esteban Salles was saved by his amount after a powerful free kick from Ibrahim Sissoko. At the end of the match, the Iséroise defense held the shock despite the waves from Niort. A second defeat in a row which keeps the Deux-Sèvres club away from the Top 5, still four points behind Auxerre. On the other hand at the bottom of the table, Grenoble carried out a good operation and returned to 18th place ahead of Dunkirk, with a point ahead of the Northerners. Above all, the bad spiral is broken. If the content still needs to be improved, this victory will restore some comfort and a little confidence to the GF38 in its maintenance mission.
