Ligue 1: three new suspicions of Covid-19 at OM

Three new suspected cases of Covid-19 have been detected within the professional workforce of OM, where five proven cases have already been identified (Jordan Amavi, Valentin Rongier, Maxime Lopez, Steve Mandanda and Dimitri Payet).

“Olympique de Marseille has just learned that 3 new suspected cases of Covid-19 have been detected within its professional workforce”, wrote in a statement the club, which must face Sunday Brest for the second day of the League 1.

“The club contacted the LFP commission for this purpose today,” he concludes.

The outfit of Brest-OM threatened?

The five players already affected in the Marseille workforce, whose names have not been officially revealed, are all asymptomatic, a spokesperson for the club explained last week.

These cases had led to the postponement of the OM match against Saint-Etienne, which was to open the Ligue 1 season last Friday. Marseille’s debut in this 2020-2021 season has been postponed until next Sunday on the lawn in Brest.

In addition to OM, the workforce of several L1 clubs have been affected by the epidemic, such as Nîmes, Montpellier, Lens, Nice, Angers, Monaco or Brest.
