On the occasion of the 21e Ligue 1 day, three middle and final matches were played simultaneously at 3 p.m. Reims won by a short header at home against Stade Brestois (1-0), Dijon and Strasbourg parted in a draw (1-1) and Raymond Domenech’s Nantes continues its negative spiral in s’ inclining against the Messins at Saint-Symphorien.
This Saturday January 24 was synonymous with maintenance and survival in France on the occasion of the 21e Ligue 1 day. At 3pm, six mid-bottom teams met with the same goal: to garner valuable points for the rest of the season. And it is mission accomplished for the Stade de Reims which showed authority at home by winning over the smallest of the margins against Brest (1-0) thanks to Nathanel Mbuku, the only scorer of the match at the 40e minute. Thanks to this great victory, Reims escaped a little from the red zone by pointing at 14e Ligue 1 place.
At the same time, the Garnets of Metz confirmed their very good momentum after the victory in Lyon by pushing even more Nantes still so uninspired (2-0). Aaron Iseka Leya allowed his team to lead 1-0 in the 36e minute before Farid Boulaya does the break in all the last seconds in the 92e minute. The Canaries led by Raymond Domenech fall to the 17e Ligue 1 place three small points from the red zone. Metz continues its march forward and climbs to 8e Ligue 1 place.
Finally, no winner between Dijon and Strasbourg for Gaston Gérard. Ludovic Ajorque gave his team the advantage in the 51e minute but Coulibaly set the record straight at the 63e.
A result that does not suit anyone. Dijon is found 18e Ligue 1 with 15 points while Thierry Laurey’s men point to 15e rang.
