Mauricio Pochettino has been linked with the head coach vacancies at Tottenham Hotspur and Real Madrid in recent weeks, but Paris Saint-Germain do not want the Argentine to go anywhere.
PSG sporting director Leonardo has come out and backed Pochettino, who took charge of the French club in early January and led them led to the semi-finals of the Champions League, but they missed out on the Ligue 1 title to Lille.
“Mauricio Pochettino has two years left on his contract at PSG and we are very happy,” Leonardo told Europe 1.
Pochettino himself has come out and stated his optimism about the project in Paris, too.
“I’m happy with the way the players have adapted to the changes,” he told PSG‘s official website.
“There are a lot of things that couldn’t be changed or couldn’t be developed because of a lack of time. But I still think that with this way of working, and with the desire to be able to develop other kinds of ideas on the pitch, we will do great things in the future.”
Real Madrid, meanwhile, are being very calm in their search for a new head coach, as they want to make sure that they appoint the right candidate.
