The RC Lens performed very well and recorded his third consecutive success against Bordeaux (2-1) which allows him to climb temporarily on the podium of League 1, Saturday during the 4th day. Winners of Paris SG (1-0) and Lorient (3-2) last week, the Sang et Or confirmed their good momentum by winning in front of their home crowd thanks to goals from Ignatius Ganago (47th) and Gaël Kakuta from the penalty spot (59th). Samuel Kalu reduced the score in added time for the Girondins (90th + 5).

Franck Haise’s players, who have never ceased to press the Bordelais and have developed a game carried forward, pocketed a well-deserved success. They could have won more widely by being more effective, especially during the first period.
With nine points on the clock, the Artésiens climb to the second step of the podium behind Saint-Etienne, who will play in Nantes on Sunday. The Girondins, who were undefeated and had not yet conceded a single goal, temporarily retreated to 11th place. Saturday, they did not exist on the lawn of the Bollaert-Delelis stadium, once again very noisy despite the reduced gauge.
From the outset, Lens put pressure on Bordeaux: after interception, Kakuta spun alone on goal but opened his foot too wide and missed the frame (4th). The Lensois playmaker then launched Ganago, who shot right next to (15th), then Florian Sotoca unleashed a shot deflected by Benoît Costil (24th). The Bordeaux goalkeeper then pushed back a center shot from Jonathan Clauss (30th) and especially a point blank attempt from Ganago, still served by Kakuta (38th).
Ganago and Kakuta still scorers
Bordeaux, which did not offer much offensively, was dangerous almost only on set piece, like the volley of Rémi Oudin at close range repelled by Jean-Louis Leca (8th) or the head of Laurent Koscielny above (17th). The only shot on target came in added time through Otavio (45th + 2).
As soon as the restart, the Artésiens were rewarded for their great pressing efforts: after intercepting a withdrawal from Rémi Oudin, Ganago eliminated Costil and scored in the empty goal (1-0, 47th). In the process, the Blood and Gold hit the nail on the head: Ganago was unbalanced in the box by Paul Baysse, who received a second warning, and Kakuta converted the penalty (2-0, 59th). With three goals on the clock each, the two Lensois players are achieving, like their team, a very good start to the season.
In numerical superiority, the RCL continued its dominance without, however, succeeding in increasing the brand. Conversely, it was Kalu who reduced the lead on a free kick (2-1, 90th + 5), with no consequences.
