Once is not custom, Lille suffered but ended up winning thanks to a goal from Zeki Celik at the very end of the match. Here are the notes of the Mastiffs after this courageous victory.
Léo Jardim (7.5) : The Brazilian goalkeeper is certainly not the most academic of goalkeepers but if Lille was able to pull off a success, it is largely thanks to him with two superb saves against Gameiro then Thomasson.
Clever Steel (6) : As for the rest of the team, his first half was difficult. A little better in the second act without being flamboyant either. His goal from the left comes to deliver his team after a complicated match.
José Fonte (6) : The Lille captain suffered at times from the power of Ajorque and the vivacity of Gameiro but he held on well to contribute to the clean sheet of the Lille defense.
Sven Botman (7) : The Dutch rock was back and he directly showed his importance in the Lille defense. Solid in the duel, intelligent in his reading of the game, the number 4 showed that he wanted to achieve a good end to the season.
Gabriel Gudmundsson (6): His start to the match was average but he managed to take the measure of his vis-à-vis as the game progressed. He was also fair offensively with several well-felt ball outings, especially on the only goal of the game.
Edon Zhegrova (4): Very little found since Lille’s attacks went more through Weah, the Kosovar struggled to show off and contented himself with easy gestures rather than going into percussion on his rare balloons. He could have scored if Sanches hadn’t taken the ball away from him in an ideal position.
Benjamin Andre (5): He was in the fight during his entire presence on the field but he was often in technical difficulty with several loss of ball on rather simple balls. Despite everything, he never gave up.
Renato Sanches (4) : At the organization of the Lille game with the ball, the Portuguese was totally in trouble for an hour with a lot of technical waste. It was better in the last half hour.
Timothy Weah (6,5) : After starting at a peak in Reims, he was placed in the left lane this Sunday. If he had any waste, the American international was very impactful, whether in his ability to take depth or even with the ball. At the origin of Celik’s goal with a very good cross in the box.
Jonathan David (3) : The matches follow one another and look alike for the Canadian. After a difficult first act, he missed almost everything in the second with missed controls and easy passes.
