LIG Nex1 announced on the 23rd that it had received the first prize, the Minister of National Defense Award, at the 4th competition for quality in the field of ammunition and technological innovation organized by the Defense Acquisition Program Administration and the Defense Technology and Quality Institute.
Since 2018 the Competition for the quality and technological innovation of the ammunition sector is organized by the Defense Technology and Quality Institute to discover companies that have contributed to solving problems in the field of ammunition and to improve quality and technology, and share excellent examples of civil and military innovation.
In this competition, 11 teams that passed the document screening presented innovation cases out of 46 teams made up of large companies, small and medium-sized enterprises, venture companies and so-called groups.
Among them, the “Haegung Main Parts Performance Test and Measurement Method Quality Innovation” project presented by the mechanical technology team of LIG Nex1 PGM manufacturing headquarters was selected as the first prize.
LIG Nex1 explained that through this task he stabilized the performance of key parts of the “Haegung”, a domestic anti-ship missile defense guided missile, and ensured the long-term operational reliability of the guided missile.
