What goes up: electricity prices …

Regulated electricity prices increase by 2.4% from Saturday February 1 for individuals and small professionals. To justify this new increase, the Energy Regulatory Commission (CRE) claims the increase in the cost of supply and the closing of the gap between costs and prices during 2019. A catch-up which would result by an average increase of 21 euros per year on the bill for a residential consumer, according to CRE.

… the price of tolls …

As every year, on February 1, tolls increase. If this increase were to be between 1 and 1.5% according to the announcements of the Secretary of State in charge of Transport, Jean-Baptiste Djebbari, it will finally be fixed around 0.85% on average for “historic” companies such than APRR, Sanef, Area, ASF, Cofiroute, Escota and SAPN, and 1.59% for more recent concessions. The concession contracts signed between the State and the motorway concessionaires allow them to increase their prices each year to at least 70% of last year’s inflation. In ten years, the price of tolls has increased by almost 20%.

… and the amount of taxi trips

In 2020, the minimum fare for a race goes from 7.10 euros to 7.30 euros for all taxis, Parisian and non-Parisian, according to the Public Service. In addition, taxi fares are now capped at 4.18 euros for coverage, 1.12 euros for the kilometer traveled, 37.46 euros for the hourly price for the waiting period – in case of reservation by the customer- or slow walking. For Paris taxis, the supplements for reservations are 4 euros for immediate reservations and 7 euros for reservations in advance.

What goes down: the rate of Livret A, LDDS, LEP and CEL …

Fixed at 0.75% since August 1, 2015, the rate for passbook A will drop to 0.50%, its historic lowest, from February 1, 2020. The booklet for sustainable and inclusive development will also drop to 0.50 %. The remuneration of the people’s savings account, currently 1.25%, will increase to 1%. Finally, the rate for the Housing Savings Account drops from 0.50% to 0.25%.

… and the price of gas

Regulated gas prices for Engie are down 3.3%. In detail, the invoice amount must decrease by 0.9% for customers who use gas for cooking, by 2% for cooking and hot water, by 3.5% for heating and by 4 % for the small boiler room. Since January 1, 2019, gas prices have dropped by 14.7% in total.
