Life-Threatening Incident: 19-Year-Old Falls from Train Mast in Hanau Train Station

The unusual excursion of a 19-year-old from the Rhine-Main area ended this afternoon (10 July) with life-threatening injuries.

The woman first noticed around 2:30 p.m. as a staggering person on the tracks in the area of ​​the signal box in Hanau train station. The affected tracks were closed for safety reasons.

The 19-year-old first climbed onto a parked train and later onto a mast of the overhead line (railway power line). As railway employees told the federal police, the power of the overhead line (15,000 volts) was switched off immediately.

The alarmed fire brigade from Hanau prepared the rescue with a jumping sheet. The 19-year-old obviously lost her balance and fell off the mast a little later. She obviously got stuck on the power line and narrowly missed the jumping sheet. She fell to the ground and suffered life-threatening injuries from the fall.

At around 3:45 p.m., the woman came to the accident clinic in Frankfurt am Main with a rescue helicopter.

Details of the injuries and the extent to which alcohol or drugs were involved are still under investigation.
