“During the period of closure, work was carried out on the framework, the air handling system and we adopted a new ice painting process and the lighting and sound system were improved. For its part, the rink team reflected on the post-Covid period, to give the rink more visibility. “
Cool break and electro evenings
Two new things are on the agenda. With the Cool Break, every day from 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. for all ages and Sunday from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for families. On this occasion, the kindergarten is set up for the little ones, who can learn to slide in particular with small so-called educational chairs, which allow them to discover the sensations when evolving on the ice.
On Friday and Saturday evenings, throughout the summer, the ice rink offers les Summer ice party, with the musical sets of the young DJs where we evolve on the skates accompanied musically by the young DJs from the Atelier J electro set up by the youth service of the city.
Open to everyone
All of these events are aimed at regular or beginner skaters. “People who practice rollerblading do not have much difficulty adapting to ice,” assures Xavier Daramy. But people who have never skated can come. There is always a course manager present to ensure safety and give advice. ”
It is also good to indicate your level upon arrival to choose the skates. Those intended for figure skating are recommended for beginners since they have notches to brake, which is not the case for hockey skates.
External teams
Even at a time when the Magnus League season, the most challenging hockey championship, in which the club of theHormadi, has come to an end, the rink team still has to stick to a tight schedule. The Angloy ice rink indeed hosts numerous internships for external teams or figure skating clubs.
“We even have Bordeaux figure skaters who have come individually, since the Bordeaux ice rink is closed. They mingled with the general public. What created a spontaneous animation. People appreciated the evolutions of these two skaters. , says Xavier Daramy.
The ice rink also receives children from the leisure center without accommodation in Baroja or from outdoor recreation centers or summer camps. Finally, it remains a privileged place, on hot days, to treat yourself to a pleasant moment of slippery freshness.
