Lieutenant General Kamel Al-Wazir, Minister of Transport and Communications, commented on the accident of a concrete beam falling on the Kamal Amer axis, which led to the death of a worker and the injury of others.
He said during a phone call with the “On My Responsibility” program, presented by the journalist Ahmed Moussa, on the “Sada El Balad” screen, on Tuesday evening: “There are people who should throw some dirt on the beautiful item… This is a very simple accident at the home of Lt. General Kamal Amer’s bridge.”
He added: “People said, ‘The truth is, a bridge fell. The bridge collapsed. The minister was executed. He spent 2 billion pounds, and the bridge fell. The bridge was not signed, and there is nothing wrong with it.'”
He continued: “I am the one responsible for all the bridges in Egypt.. and the bridge did not collapse or anything.. and one of the prominent Egyptian media figures said that the governorate should have said that no one should cross under the bridge so that the bridge would not fall on it.. the bridge did not fall.. what fell once was the winch. He installs it in an isolated area.”
He continued: “The work area remains surrounded by sheet metal fences, and it remains isolated, and there is absolutely no danger to the residents. The winch was carrying a camera at the end of the bridge that was operating as a trial.”
He pointed out that the bridge has not been opened yet, and is working on an experimental basis. He said: “Whoever fell on a beam that was soaking wet and the winch was removing it from 4 pins… he took apart 3 pins and the worker was about to remove the fourth, but he was a little late in removing it, as the beam tilted on its side… and it is known.” The camera is removed when it is standing on its sword, but when it sleeps on its side, it does not remove.. The camera broke and fell in the place designated for work, which has no connection to the street, and the worker who died was the worker who was pouring the camera.”
He added: “The people said the truth, we must kill the entire minister. We must execute the entire minister. This is the spending of 2 billion. Understand, look, analyze, and know what good news is being said and what is not being said.”
