Lierse started the final day without Oulare in the squad, Thibaut Van Acker and Jens Teunckens were on the bench for this match. There was nothing to win or lose for the visitors, unlike Zulte Waregem who wanted to secure a place in the play-off. Within fifteen minutes, the Pallieters faced a double deficit, goals from Ferreira and Nadi. Ocansey brought hope back into the match for Lierse with a header goal. Just before half time, Zulte Waregem scored the final blow through Diop.
After half-time, a few substitutions were made to give the substitutes some playing time and match rhythm, but the fire had already gone out of the match for a while. 10 minutes before the final whistle, Labie was able to put the 4-1 on the scoreboard.
Lierse ends an eventful season on a positive note in a creditable 10th position in the Challenger Pro League.
