Liepiņa has decided to lay down the mandate of the Saeima deputy [papildināts] – Politics

Member of Parliament Linda Liepiņa has decided to lay down the mandate of a deputy of the 13th Saeima, according to the submission of the deputy held by the agency.

In the application for the resignation of the deputy’s mandate, Liepiņa emphasized that there are at least 13 reasons to leave the Saeima.

Among other things – the Constitution has been violated in Latvia for a long time, democracy is directly restricted, because in Latvia the power does not belong to the people, the Saeima adopts laws that it does not observe, the executive indicates what the decision-making power must do.

Among these reasons, it is mentioned that the people of Latvia have lost faith in politicians, the President serves those in power, not the people, Saeima deputies do not vote according to their conscience, but the Constitutional Court does not monitor the observance of the Satversme.

Liepiņa also points out that people who are engaged in business are not allowed to come to power in Latvia, lobbyists in Latvia operate without the Lobby Law and people with dual citizenship hold leading positions in the country.

“Latvia deserves to thrive and prosper,” Liepiņa mentions in her application as the 13th reason for putting down her mandate.

In a conversation with the agency LETA Liepiņa, the political clique, headed by President Egils Levits, Speaker of the Saeima Ināra Mūrniece (NA), former Speaker of the Constitutional Court Ineta Ziemele, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court and Prosecutor General, who have decided on the interpretation of the Satversme, has usurped power in Latvia.

The essence of the problem is that the provisions of the Satversme on full-time sittings of the Saeima are not observed, but the interpretation regarding the organization of remote sittings is supported.

In Liepiņa’s opinion, this is a gross violation of the Satversme and the only way to announce it out loud is by postponing the deputy’s mandate. She saw no other possibility, because she had tried virtually everything, including meeting the North at one time. However, the Constitutional Court does not show interest in this situation.

This situation is not normal and in her opinion, the best thing she can do is escalate the situation. “If I can’t hear my voice, what else can I do,” Liepina said.

She has no future plans at the moment. She does not live in the past and future. Her plans end with a visit to friends and pilaf meals scheduled for tomorrow.

Liepiņa was elected to the 13th Saeima from the list of the party “KPV LV”, but later resigned from the faction and acted as a deputy who does not belong to the factions.

According to the information of the CEC, Māris Možvillo (KPVLV) can apply for the mandate of Liepiņa.
