The orchestra will play Peter Tchaikovsky’s symphony at the opening of its 141st concert season Manfred and Jean Sibelius Violin Concerto. Paula Šūmane, who is a bright and versatile violinist, will play the solo. Initially, she studied violin at Emīls Dārziņš Music High School and Jūrmala Music High School, and at the age of fifteen she entered the Paris National Conservatory, which graduated with the first prize in 2008. This was followed by studies at the University of the Arts in Graz, where he obtained a master’s degree with honors. Paula Šūmane is the winner of the 2011 Grand Music Award in the category Debut of the year.
Paula Šūmane’s play is characterized by a fine sense of style, impressive technique, filigree nuance and bright stage performance. Played solo with the Lisbon Orchestra Metropolitan, Baden – Baden Philharmonic Orchestra, Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra, Latvian National Symphony Orchestra, Sinfonietta Riga and other collectives.
