Actor couple Liene and Đirts Liuziniki reveal their dating story in their first joint interview for “Ieva” magazine.
Asked how they noticed each other, both say: “We met as colleagues at the National Theatre.”
They met for the first time in the show “Cabaret”, but even before that both had danced at the Theater Day concert.
“It was my first season in the theater. I noticed Girts while preparing for this concert. I remember how we all sang, but Girts sat behind us on the podium, so I thought: “He’s proud – he doesn’t even come to others!” Only later did I realize that every sometimes an actor needs to get away from the energy of nigu-negu in order to concentrate,” says Liene.
On the other hand, Đirts says: “I noticed Liena very energetic and with burning eyes. She was neither shy nor conceited and really wanted to work – sometimes even a little too much. Man is a part of nature and subconsciously, animalistically, he feels which person attracts him more, which one less. I noticed Liene – it happened by itself, it’s hard to name a specific moment when we met.”
It has already been reported that the wider public became aware of the relationship between the two in the spring of 2016, when the couple started attending public events together, although rumors about the relationship between the two had already surfaced much earlier.
Liuziniks was previously married to the mother of his two sons, Metta, but Liene was with Rūdofs Īkis, the son of director Andrejs Īkis, before her relationship with Īrta – they both have a daughter, Emilija.
