”Sang toi libre is one of them. This action was implemented last March by the City of Liège, at the instigation of Alderman Julie Fernandez Fernandez. She is competing in the Social Cohesion category and was ranked among the top ten by a panel of 1,045 European citizens emerging from an impressive list of 337 entries from 26 countries.
The main mission of this convention is to encourage European policies to improve. The quality of life of citizens depends on it and we must fight to defend our values, dear to Europe: human rights, equality, social cohesion and democracy.
By distributing free period protection, this project fights against menstrual precariousness and against inequalities in the face of the exorbitant prices of certain products that are essential to an acceptable lifestyle. People who register can choose from more than 24 different types of protection, including classic protection, but also organic or reusable protection such as menstrual panties or cups.
“Sang toi libre” is however not only a distribution of protections, the participants of the project are invited to give their opinion in order to develop the action according to the will of the citizens and this within the framework of a real participatory politics.
The final will take place on May 11 in Warsaw. We cross fingers.
