Prosecutors introduce five experts to the murder trial Brigadier N Yosua Hutabarat. One of those featured was an expert polygraph or lie detector test who examined Ferdy Sambo and others during the police investigation phase.
There were five defendants who appeared in court this time. The four defendants namely Ferdy Sambo, Putri Candrawathi, Ricky Rizal and Strong Ma’ruf were present in the South Jakarta District Court courtroom on Wednesday (14/12/2022). Meanwhile, Bharada Richard Eliezer was in attendance virtually.
“From today to Wednesday, you (Eliezer) will be placed in a special seat due to limited space and reasons of protection from the LPSK,” Presiding Judge Wahyu Iman Santosa said.
Below are the names of the experts and witnesses presented today:
1. Digital Forensic Expert, Heri Priyanto
2. Ballistics expert, Arif Sumirat
3. Polygraph expert, Adi Febrianto Ar-Rosyid
4. Ahli DNA, Fira Sania
5. DNA expert, Irfan Roqib
6. Witness of the elaboration of the TKP, Sirajul Umam
Additionally, the judge stated that the trial would be held behind closed doors while the DNA experts were reviewing the case. The reason is that DNA-related expert information can be misused for crimes by irresponsible parties.
“Because it relates to public safety, where witness testimony can be misused, the parties are not responsible for committing crimes in the future,” the judge said.
“Visitors and reporters, when we declare a session closed, please leave this room,” the judge continued.
Ferdy Sambo accused of premeditated murder
Ferdy Sambo was charged with the premeditated murder of Brigadier N Yosua Hutabarat. This act was performed together with Richard Eliezer Pudihang Lumiu, Putri Candrawathi, Ricky Rizal Wibowo and Strong Ma’ruf.
“Those who did it, ordered it to be done and took part in the act, deliberately and with pre-planning took the lives of other people,” the prosecutor said during the reading of the indictment in trial in South Jakarta District Court (PN Jaksel), Monday (17/10).
Ferdy Sambo was tried under article 340 of the penal code subordinate to article 338 of the penal code together with article 55 paragraph 1 1 of the penal code.
Ferdy Sambo was also accused of obstructing the investigation into the murder case Brigadier Joshua. Ferdy Sambo was accused of the law n. 19 of 2016 amending the law n. 11 of 2008 regarding electronic information and transactions and the penal code.
