Already singer and author, Licia Chery takes up the challenge of TV animation in the game “C’est ma question” on Monday.
From the 35-year-old Genevan, we know the voice and the pen – she wrote a children’s book entitled “Tichéri has frizzy hair” released at the beginning of the year – but not yet the talents of presenter. Starting Monday Aug 24, 2020, she will succeed Sébastien Rey at the helm of the general culture game.
–
How did you get into “C’est ma question”?
–
By passing a casting. When I was little, I never saw anyone who looked like me RTS and I wanted to be the one that little girls like the one I was could relate to.
–
What personal touch do you want to bring to the game?
–
My natural. I laugh a lot and I hope I will succeed in transmitting some of my joie de vivre through the screen.
–
Did you prepare yourself in a particular way?
–
Yes, I thought about how I was going to host the first show and how I was going to present myself. People used to see Sébastien Rey and I’m new. Jonas Schneiter (editor’s note: who hosted “C’est ma question” from 2016 to 2018) also came to train me so that I have all the tools I need for the show to function properly. I hope it will show.
–
Is your appointment a strong signal from RTS at a time when we are talking about the Black Lives Matter movement?
–
I rather want to say: it’s about time! Things are done little by little, at the rate of each country, of each society. What is especially important is to tell yourself that I was chosen because they thought I was made for this job. I’m here to be a host, not to be a black host.
