Reseña del libro “Corona pandemic in Germany. Contact bans and daycare centers. Closure for children aged 2-6 (in English)”
Bachelor’s thesis from 2020 in the field of sociology – children and youth, grade: 2.0, medium-sized university of applied sciences, event: human resources, health and social affairs, language: German, abstract: There is an exceptional situation in Germany. The government is closing the daycare centers and the children spend 12 weeks exclusively at home with their families. The aim of this bachelor’s thesis is to research the effects of daycare closures during the Corona lockdown on the cognitive, social and emotional development of 2-6 year old children. Opinions of experts such as psychologists or educators are critically compared in order to address society’s emotions. The theoretical foundations of child development and the areas mentioned above are broken down. The plant-environment relationship is thematically developed and demonstrated in order to gain insights into factors influencing development. The daycare center as the starting point for this work is examined in detail with its most important tasks in order to be able to draw conclusions. The topic of family is shown as a counterpart to daycare in order to include the findings in the conclusion. This work is an interesting approach for parents, educators and psychologists who are concerned with the question: “Will the sudden daycare closures also have later effects on the children?”
