On April 12, the Libreville town hall gardens welcomed several residents of the city on the occasion of the launch of the Libreville cinematographic cultural caravan by the special delegate in charge of the management of the Libreville commune. “This caravan promotes the thematic film entitled ”Evil does not come from far”. The idea is to make the film accessible to all audiences across the six districts of the commune of Libreville», said Jude Ibrahim Rapontchombo.

Through the broadcast of this film by Melchy Obiang, it intends to offer people an opportunity for entertainment and leisure. “We don’t have entertainment or a cinema room so the initiative is welcome», declared Pamela, an ordinary person, in the gardens of City Hall.

Free screenings of this film across the six arrondissements, in partnership with the Montparnasse and Sobraga studios, will be held until May 24. “I believe that cinema has the capacity to positively change the public through the messages it conveys and to raise awareness. This is what justifies our support for the promotion of Gabonese cinema.“, said the special delegate. According to Pierre Célestin Angoué, the general director of Culture and the arts, Youth and sports at Libreville town hall, the caravan is an initiative of the general directorate of Culture and the arts.

It is supported by the municipality to support local cinematographic works in a context where “cinema becomes an industry that creates wealth and creates jobs». «This is why I come to express the wish that each of us learns to consume local productions in order to contribute to the empowerment of Gabonese artists and cultural actors.», declared Jude Ibrahim Rapontchombo inviting the populations of Libreville to take advantage of this caravan which will last approximately one month. “Next Friday we will be in the first arrondissement and so on until we end up in the sixth arrondissement», said Pierre Célestin Angoué to the happiness of the populations who appreciate the initiative.
