In order to always ensure the safety of its users, Libreville Airport (ADL) and its partners intend to increase their strength in this area. It is in this sense that the infrastructure housed the 3e
edition of its civil aviation safety day. Placed under the aegis of its general director, Igor Simard, this event saw the participation of Augustin Mfoudi, and Dieudonné Mfoubou Moudhouma. These two experts in civil aviation safety and security spoke to airport operators about the standards, supervision, management and management of safety in civil aviation. The National Safety Plan (NSP) covering all regulations and guidelines governing the conduct of safe operations, from the point of view of aircraft operators, air traffic service providers, aerodromes and air traffic services. maintenance was explained to the participants. Subsequently, they were treated to a presentation workshop and a flame extinguishing exercise with the fire brigade from Léon Mba airport in Libreville.

On the reasons for this exercise, Dieudonné Mfoubou Moudhouma was keen to emphasize that it is now part of a tradition while highlighting the particularity of the 2023 edition. “The initiative, which is not recent, now constitutes a tradition. It is part of the safety culture within the airport area. ADL makes safety culture an obligation. This year it was all about reclook for foreign objects on the platform because they can interfere with traffic, particularly planes on the tarmac. In addition, it was also discussed that the agents as well as all other collaborators at the platform understand the need to maintain the level of security of the airport”.

Augustin MFoundi spoke at length about the objective pursued by ADL which consists of achieving zero accidents on the airport platform. “To achieve this objective, or at least approach it, there are actions to take and maintain. Namely, carrying out awareness-raising activities in order to establish synergy between the different airport operators and internal stakeholders,” he indicated.
