The question of the future of Slovak hockey representative Libor Hudáček has been resolved. The Slovak will strengthen the reigning Czech champion HC Oceláři Třinec.

The club informed about it on your website. Coach Zdeněk Moták and Slovak assistant Vladimír Országh already had Hudáček at their disposal during Monday’s first joint training session on the ice.

“We are convinced of Libor’s playing qualities for a long time. He has had a difficult year in terms of sports, but he will have all the more motivation to prove that he is still among the top strikers.” stated the sports director of the club Jan Peterek and added that he was very interested in the Slovak representative two years ago. At that time, after the end of his engagement in Liberec, Hudáček preferred the KHL club Neftechimik Nižnekamsk, in whose jersey he dominated the team’s productivity in the 2020/2021 season.

Hudáček also started last season in Nižnekamsk. In mid-October, he moved to Swiss Lugano, but finished the year in Belarusian Dinamo Minsk. In August, with three goals and an assist in three matches, he contributed to the promotion of the Slovak national team to the Olympic Games in Beijing, where he then helped them win a historic Olympic bronze medal with a goal and two assists.

He also looks forward to next year with hope. “The Steelers are a top organization, they have won three championships in a row. This speaks of the great quality of the staff. I am looking forward to the guys in the cabin and working with coaches Moták and Országh,” Hudáček, who also played for Slovan Bratislava in the past, told the club’s website. Banská Bystrica, Örebro and Färjestad in Sweden or Lausanne in Switzerland. He has a silver medal from the 2012 WC in his collection.

Coach Moták also sees Hudáčka as an important reinforcement: “A striker with a very rich history is coming. He has been through the KHL, the Swedish and Swiss leagues. So the expectations are high. Of course, we will try to work him into the lineup and the team as quickly as possible so that he can be a real reinforcement.”

After two seasons in the Czech Republic, he headed to the KHL, where he wore the jerseys of Nizhnekamsk and Dynamo Minsk. He played a total of 211 games in the Continental League, scoring 45 goals and assisting another 55.
