Libertadores game on SBT changes day and Fluminense ‘escapes the wall’ · TV News

As a matter of logistics, SBT was forced to change the day of its Libertadores da América broadcast next week. To prioritize Fluminense, Silvio Santos’ TV will show the confrontation against Olimpia (PAR) in the third preliminary phase of the competition the next two wednesdaysat 9:30 pm —Globo’s traditional football schedule in the middle of the week. With that, the club “escapes” from competing with the wall of the BBB 22from Globe.

The information was confirmed by CONMEBOL to the TV news. According to the column, there are matches for Defensores Del Chaco, in Asunción, the stadium for the first leg scheduled for next week – on Wednesday (9) -, for the Copa Sudamericana on Tuesday (8) and on Thursday ( 10). With no way out, the entity could only schedule the Libertadores match for Wednesday due to the possibility of dates and spaces available. The return will be on the 16th, at the Nilton Santos stadium, in Rio de Janeiro.

SBT had the possibility of being held on Tuesdays at 9:30 pm. Conmebol put the match between América-MG and Barcelona (EQU) for the time and day that is used by the broadcaster. However, the Minas rabbit does not have the same national appeal as the Fluminense.

Between choosing América and changing the day, SBT preferred the second option. With this, TV can benefit, as it will face a weaker day of the BBB 22, from Globo. On Wednesday, the reality show has a frame with Paulo Vieira as its biggest highlight. On Tuesday, the clash is against the elimination of the week.

Fluminense will again be the attraction of two stations. In addition to SBT, ESPN will also show the games of the Laranjeiras tricolor in search of a spot in the group stage of the continental competition. As in the previous phase, América-MG will be restricted to Conmebol TV, pay-per-view made by operators Claro, Net and Sky.

After a year and a half, SBT returns to using Wednesday night for football. The schedule has been consecrated by Globo since the late 1990s for broadcasting the modality. But this is a one-off change. As for the group stage, which starts on April 6, SBT will return to Tuesdays.

SBT, ESPN and Conmebol TV have a contract to show the Libertadores until the end of this year. In the next weeks, Conmebol will start bidding for broadcasting rights from 2023in an agreement that will be negotiated until 2026. There is great expectation because of the companies that promise to enter the dispute.
