In the eyes of the expert, Šmíd was undoubtedly the face of the Liberec club, around which everything revolved. “A huge loss, you won’t find such a player on the market. He did everything to make the club work,” says Duda.

Looking for a new reinforcement, the management of the North Bohemian club once again relied on experience by hiring Michael Frolík. “He hasn’t played properly for four years, that was the last time he played regularly in the NHL. This commitment is a big challenge for him,” says Duda. “He can prove that he is still a good player. But if many people think he will save Liberec, then in my eyes he is not a player who would save him.” Admits the expert on the Knock show.

But this does not mean that Duda was overly negative towards Frolík. Exactly opposite. “He has excellent morale and character, he is a hard worker, a hard worker, an excellent guy. He is one of the best at developing young players,” adds Frolík one after another.
–
However, Duda is also convinced that Frolík will not score huge points in the extra league. “In the NHL he has scored forty points a season, that’s the average. If he gets to this number in Extraliga, it will be fantastic,” suspects the former excellent striker. “Frolík needs a restart and Liberec is such a glove for him. The Czech Extraliga is not an easy competition, we will see how he fares.”
