Liberation festival Oldambt continues tradition, despite change of location

Winschoten – The Oldambt Liberation Festival, an annual event for families, will also take place on May 5 this year, albeit at a new location. The organization has announced that despite financial challenges, the festival will go ahead with a day of entertainment and cultural celebration.

“Unfortunately not in the beautiful Maintebos this time because we did not receive enough financial support,” said the festival organization. Despite this setback, this year’s festival will be held in and around the Harbor Club on Havenkade West in Winschoten.

“As in previous years, the Oldambt Liberation Festival promises to offer a range of activities for all ages.” let the organization know.

A highlight for younger visitors is the large children’s square with attractions such as a swing and the fluffs. In addition, the SOB will again be present with two beautiful fire engines, while city guide Koos Akkerman will organize city walks for those interested in local history and heritage.

The festival will also provide a platform for important organizations such as Amnesty International and Regenboog Oldambt.

Live music will be heard all day long, with performances by local talents such as De Click, Mart Eerens, The One & Only’s, Waan van de Dag, Planet Orange and Toosst. In addition, food trucks will provide a range of culinary delicacies for festival goers.

The Oldambt Liberation Festival invites everyone to participate in this celebration of freedom and community. The program runs from 1:30 PM to 10:00 PM. Come and join this wonderful event!
