Liberal Party of Canada adopts new tool to communicate with supporters

The party prides itself on being the first political party in the world to use Community, a text messaging platform that presents itself as a tool that allows instant, direct communication with the people you want to reach, using the simplicity of text messaging.

It is used by a multitude of actors, artists and musicians, including Canadian stars. Shawn Mendes, Shania Twain and Justin Bieber.

The platform was used last fall by former US President Barack Obama to disseminate his briefs and help promote the Democratic presidential candidate’s campaign. Joe Biden.

The Liberal Party has posted a phone number and urges Canadians to text their thoughts on the issues and ideas for improving federal policies.

The party spokesperson, Braeden Caley, promises that every text will receive a personal response, whether from a minister, an MP, a candidate, a high official of the campaign team or perhaps even the prime minister Justin Trudeau himself.

The party’s first message will be a poll, designed to highlight the priority interests of supporters.

This will then allow the party, for example, to share important announcements on various topics with people who have shown a particular interest in them. The party will also be able to use text messages to alert people when events are taking place in their area or to connect them with volunteers in their ridings.

This is a new and creative way to stay in direct contact with Canadians and sharing an idea will be as quick and easy as texting, said Braeden Caley.

The idea is that there is a rich conversation going on to get ideas from Canadians and share ideas with them on how they can get more involved on these issues and stay in touch in a new way with a political party they seek to support.

Text messages to reach activists

NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh also deployed Community, inviting Canadians in March to send him text messages.

At this stage, Braeden Caley said the Liberal Party is already piloting the text service in British Columbia. He launched the service across the country on Wednesday night.

Community confirmed that the Liberals are the only political party in the world to use the platform so far.

During a recent fundraising campaign with their supporters, the Conservatives indicated that they too planned to improve the way they communicate by text.

That’s why we’re planning one of the most ambitious voter communication plans ever executed by a Canadian political party., said the Conservative Party of Canada, without providing any details.
