The Democrats completely dominate the state assembly. They have the rapporteur in the four largest cities.
Several of the Democrats’ most prominent national politicians, such as speaker Nancy Pelosi and Vice President Kamala Harris, come from California.
Yet “the impossible” can happen. On September 14, the state’s Democratic governor Gavin Newsom (53) risks being replaced by an arch-conservative talk show host who supports Donald Trump.
