“We are completely devastated.”
Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan y Louis Tomlinson They spoke out this Thursday about the death of Liam Payne, with whom they formed the youth band One Direction from 2010 to 2015.
Payne died Wednesday afternoon in Buenos Aires, after falling from the third floor of a hotel. Authorities are still investigating what happened.
“With time, and when we all can, there will be more to say. But for now, we will take some time to grieve and process the loss of our brotherwhom we loved very much,” they said in a joint statement.
“The memories we shared with him will be treasured forever. Meanwhile, our thoughts are with his family, his friends and the fans who loved him with us. We miss him very much. We love you Liam,” they said in a statement on Instagram.
The publication reached 2 million likes in less than 30 minutes.

In a separate statement, Tomlinson said he had “lost a brother.”
“I met Liam when he was 16 and I was 18. His voice surprised me instantly, but most importantly, as time went by I got the chance to see the kind brother I had wanted all my life,” she wrote.
“And for the record, Liam was in my opinion the most vital part of One Direction. His experience from a very young age, his perfect intonation, his stage presence, his gift for writing. The list is endless. Thanks for shaping us, Liam.”
Tomlinson accompanied his message with a photo of both of them.

“The broken heart”
“I love you, brother,” was the heartfelt message that Zayn Malik also published on Instagram, with a photo of both of them sleeping.
The condolences from the former One Direction bandmates come as Payne’s family, other artists and fans have expressed their shock at what happened.
In a statement, his relatives expressed that they were “heartbroken.”
“Liam will forever live in our hearts and we will remember him for his kind, funny and brave soul. “We are supporting each other as best we can as a family and ask for privacy and space at this horrible time.”
This Thursday, the authorities investigating Payne’s death in Buenos Aires have reported some details, such as that in The room where the singer was staying was in “total chaos”as well as alcohol, drugs and medications.
It was also learned that emergency services were called when the singer behaved violently and screams and blows were heard from inside his room.
Payne reportedly fell from a balcony on the hotel’s third floor into the hotel’s interior courtyard.
Police warned that investigations will take several days, but that evidence suggests Payne was alone in his room at the time of the incident.
