According to the tabloid, Payne and his girlfriend arrived in Argentina on September 30, but she left on October 14, while the singer remained in the country and checked into the CasaSur Palermo Hotel.
Witnesses told TMZ that shortly before the man’s death, the police were called to the hotel because of a man behaving aggressively. Soon after, the singer fell from the balcony of his third-floor hotel room around 5 p.m. The man fell into the lobby of the hotel on the ground floor, where there are chairs and tables.

According to sources at the scene, Payne had been behaving in a problematic manner prior to this, smashing his laptop and having to be escorted back to his room by staff.
