Li Qiang said that ADB is an important multilateral development institution in the Asia-Pacific region, and it plays an active role in promoting poverty reduction and development in the region and responding to regional and global challenges. China is willing to work with all parties including the ADB to deepen practical cooperation, jointly make greater contributions to the sustainable recovery, prosperity and stability of the Asia-Pacific region, and inject more impetus into the development of the world economy.
Li Qiang pointed out that China is advancing Chinese-style modernization in an all-round way, focusing on promoting high-quality development, and there is broad room for cooperation with ADB in the future. It is hoped that ADB will continue to support and participate in China’s reform and opening up process, focus on key areas such as environmental protection and green and low-carbon development, and continuously improve cooperation benefits. China actively supports ADB’s actions to address climate change and expects ADB to further mobilize climate funds, especially innovative financing mechanisms, to help developing members enhance climate adaptation and financing capabilities, and promote green and low-carbon development transformation. It is hoped that multilateral development institutions, including the ADB, will actively call on developed countries to take the lead in fulfilling their responsibility to reduce emissions, fulfill financial and technical support commitments, and create necessary conditions for developing countries to cope with climate change and achieve sustainable development.

ADB supports China’s high-quality development, and is willing to strengthen cooperation with China in areas such as knowledge creation, green development, and addressing climate change, and help countries in the Asia-Pacific region share China’s successful development experience.
