L’Hospitalet gives an ultimatum to the European Center for Traditional Chinese Medicine

L’Hospitalet de Llobregat (Barcelona), Feb. 6 (EFE) .- The City Hall of L’Hospitalet has given an ultimatum to the project of the European Center for the Development and Promotion of Traditional Chinese Medicine to be installed in the city and be ready to 2020, but whose works have not yet begun.

In May 2017, L’Hospitalet and the Generalitat closed an agreement with the Beijing City Council for the construction of the first European center for traditional Chinese medicine in the former Godó i Trias factory in the municipality, which involved an investment of 80 million euros.

In an attention to the media, the mayor of L’Hospitalet, Núria Marín, explained this Thursday that two weeks ago they formally sent a letter, through the Chinese embassy, to the Beijing government giving them a deadline to commit to the project or, otherwise, “break free” of the agreement.

Marín said that “if there is no effective will to make this investment” they want to have the space to attract “other investments that may be as or more interesting than this”. EFE
