LG will introduce the camera technology at CES 2023

Jakarta (ANTARA) – Electronics company LG will showcase a camera module for mobile phones with the latest technology at the 2023 Consumer Electronic Show (CES).

LG Innotek, part of the LG component group, will showcase a telephoto lens module for mobile phones at CES 2023, held in Las Vegas, US, from January 5 to 8, Android Police and XDA-Developers announced on Thursday. (29/12) local time.

Not much information is known about LG’s newest telephoto lens, however, the built-in module is said to have four to nine times optical zoom capabilities. Phone brands that use LG cameras can choose the zoom function they want to optimize in that number range.

The camera module is also equipped with optical image stabilization (OIS) technology so that photos remain sharp even when zoomed in.

LG also promises that the camera will lie flat even if the optical zoom lens module is installed. Lately, cellphones equipped with such cameras have a protrusion on the rear camera due to the shape of the built-in camera module.

The camera module, according to LG, will be used in mobiles that use chips made by Qualcomm, namely Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.

New cell phones with magnification capabilities generally use two methods, namely digital zoom combined with artificial intelligence or a telephoto lens with an actuator to change the focal length of the lens.

One of the characteristics of a cell phone that uses a telephoto lens with actuator is that it has a bump because the camera module takes up more space and there are moving parts.
