LG’s new C2 OLED this year has received a number of updates both inside and out, with a new design, a new image panel, and several new intuitive features built in.
All four HDMI inputs support 4K / 120Hz signals and are therefore ready to pair with modern game consoles and gaming PCs. There is also support for variable frame rates, Nvidia G-Sync and AMD Freesync, which ensure smooth rendering of game graphics. Players are very well taken care of here!
Image quality
The LG C2 is equipped with the latest generation OLED panel, which promises, among other things, up to 20% more brightness than previous models. Brightness has long been an Achilles’ heel for OLED screens, but it has gradually improved and on the LG OLED C2 this doesn’t seem like a limit anymore.
The good brightness also offers several advantages, as the color reproduction becomes even more intense and has sharper shading differences. The LG screen has a juicy touch in the colors, which arouses interest when we look at the test scenes.
The LG screen offers several good picture modes, in which we immediately preferred the Cinema Home mode as one of our favorites. This results in very neutral color reproduction, while LG’s TruMotion interpolation helps smooth out movements. If you are allergic to the soap opera effect, you can also choose the super neutral Filmmaker mode.
Sound quality
While previous generations of LG OLEDs had great picture quality, the sound wasn’t much to brag about. Things have actually happened here with the new generation – we immediately notice that the sound has become noticeably clearer and full of character. The voice reproduction is clearer, at the same time the music and sound effects have gained much more momentum in the reproduction.
Conclusion
LG’s new C2 series received a number of major updates this year, in which both the design, usability, picture and sound received a solid overhaul. This has helped make one of the best TVs even better!
In addition to a high-contrast, color-accurate image, you get excellent ease of use and (for a TV) surprisingly rich sound. There is also support for a wide range of game-relevant features, making it an excellent overall package.
