Really no interest at all in Intel; I even had doubts about getting a laptop with Apple M1. Better that than Intel.
Because of that kind of fanboyism / irrational hatred, you do pass up potentially good products.
For example, I would never have an Apple computer like an iMac because I don’t want to be tied to the hardware that Apple chooses. I want to choose my parts myself in detail. In addition, I don’t want to be tied to one manufacturer when it comes to choosing my computer (or phone). In short, I’m not an “Apple person”; it is always the last choice on my list.
Still I have an iPad Pro 2018. Why?
– It was the largest (12.9 inch) tablet widely available.
– It is necessary because I use it to display sheet music.
– The best sheet music program is forScore, which is only available for iOS (and more recently on the Mac itself). There are Android programs that can do about the same, but there is no +/- 13 inch or larger Android tablet on the market that I like.
– This tablet is potentially going to be in use for a very long time (5 years or more), and I would like to get OS updates during that time as well. You can often forget that on Android. At Apple, the chance is much higher that you will receive updates.
In the meantime, the tablet is also used as an e-reader (two columns side by side, program MapleRead), and simply for browsing, YouTube videos, and reading PDFs; everything I used to use my now very old Galaxy Tab 2 (3? forgotten …) for.
If a 14-inch Android tablet comes out that I like in 4 years, I will switch back to Andoid in a minute.
