LG introduces 16:18 monitor with resolution of 2560×2880 pixels – Computer – News

LG announces a 27.6″ monitor with a 16:18 aspect ratio. The LG DualUp Monitor has a resolution of 2560×2880 pixels and offers the same surface area and workspace as two 21.5″ monitors with 16:9 ratio and 1440p resolution above each other.

LG focuses with its DualUp Monitor for business use and provides the screen with an adjustable LG Ergo stand, which can be placed on a desk with a clamp. According to LG, the screen ratio allows people to be productive without having to move their head a lot and that should cause less neck pain.

The LG 28MQ780 is the first monitor with a 16:18 ratio. Different manufacturers are still making 5:4 monitors. They also have an almost square ratio, but in most cases a much lower resolution of 1280×1024 pixels. Eizo is the only manufacturer with a square monitor in its range. It has a resolution of 1920×1920 pixels.

The DualUp monitor contains an IPS panel that can display 98 percent of the DCI-P3 color space. According to LG, the screen has a brightness of up to 300cd/m², a contrast ratio of 1000:1 and a gray-to-gray response time of 5ms.

In addition to two HDMI connections and a DisplayPort connection, the monitor also has a USB-C port that can supply up to 96W of power for a laptop, for example. When the screen will go on sale and what it will cost, LG has not yet announced. The manufacturer will show the monitor at the beginning of January at the CES fair in Las Vegas.
