Facility investment also increased by more than 50% compared to last year
LG Energy Solutions has set a goal of increasing annual sales by 25-30% this year compared to last year.
LG Energy Solutions presented these sales targets in a conference call to announce the results on the 27th.
LG Energy Solutions announced on the same day that its annual sales and operating profit on a consolidated basis were KRW 25.5986 trillion and KRW 1.2137 trillion, respectively, the highest ever.
LG Energy Solutions predicted that the global battery market this year would reach 890GWh, a 33% increase from the previous year.
Then, it announced that it would achieve an increase in sales by more than 25-30% this year through the establishment and expansion of global production plants and stable operation.
To this end, it plans to increase its global production capacity to 300GWh this year. This is an amount that can produce about 4.3 million high-performance pure electric vehicles.
In the case of the North American market by region, it plans to expand its production capacity to 55GWh through the operation of the first and second joint ventures (JVs) with General Motors (GM) at the end of this year.
The Wrocław production plant in Poland plans to expand its production capacity to 90GWh, and production plants in Asia such as Korea and China to 155GWh.
Investment to expand global production capacity was also decided to increase by more than 50% compared to last year (6.3 trillion won). At the end of last year, the company’s order backlog was 385 trillion won.
