L’Expression: Sports – New blood for Belmadi?

With the Algerian National Team set to return to competition next month, Belmadi could make some significant changes to the squad.

After long weeks of thinking about everything except the sportsman, with in particular the controversies of the match Algeria – Cameroon which occupied the news, the Algerian football team can now concentrate on the next deadlines which are announced, with the start of the qualifiers for the African Cup of Nations (CAN-2023). A first rally since the failures of the last CAN and the World Cup play-offs which could lead Djamel Belmadi to introduce new blood.
According to information from La Gazette du Fennec, the national driver takes stock of the situation with the French Ligue 1 and Belgium as privileged ground to find reinforcements. In France, Akim Zedadka (Clermont) could really have a chance on the right side, as could OGC Nice winger Bilal Brahimi and SCO Angers goalkeeper Anthony Mandrea. While Abdelli (Le Havre) is also mentioned, Belgium also has some interesting talents for Belmadi. Bilal Messaoudi and Abdelkahar Kadri, striker and midfielder from Kortrijk, would have a chance to join the Fennecs. In addition, the Franco-Algerian, Yasser Larouci, left side evolving in Troyes since last summer, was quoted. Seen as a great prospect of his generation, Larouci hasn’t played much this season, but can be an asset for the Algerian team in the future. However, it would seem that the player trained in Liverpool has no contact with the Algerian Federation nor with Belmadi. To see if the coach validates these potential new choices to revitalize a selection that has just suffered painful setbacks. And his list should not take long to be unveiled, since the next deadlines are fast approaching.
The Greens will start against Uganda at the new stadium in Oran on June 4, before traveling to Dar Es-Salaam to face Tanzania on Matchday 2 on the 8th of the same month. Captain Riyad Mahrez’s teammates will resume qualifying in September (September 17-29) by hosting Niger, before traveling to Niamey to cross swords with the same opponent. The last two days are scheduled between March 20 and 28, 2023. Algeria will be on call in Kampala to face Uganda, before completing their campaign at home against Tanzania. R. S. / M. B.
