“Lex Malsburg-Marzell” should solve school transport problems – Malsburg-Marzell

Mayor Singer used Citizens’ Evening to look back on the past year and honoring blood donors / water supply is a concern.

(BZ). On Friday evening, Mayor Mario Singer and the city administration invited to a city evening at the Edenbachhalle in Malsburg, followed by a discussion. Citizens were greeted with suggestive songs by the Edelweiss Music Association and Roswitha Vollbrecht offered a high-quality buffet with wood-fired bread.

That evening a special thanks went to the many blood donors of the community: Sandra Vollmer, Elke Roser, Torsten Braun and Joel Weiß had donated blood ten times. Katja Kreiter received the gold badge of honor with a golden laurel wreath for 25 blood donations. Hans-Peter Osswald and Bernd Wehrle donated blood 50 times and Sylvia Jung 75 times. They received the gold honor badge with a gold honor crown.

With numerous photos, the mayor presented the issues that have moved the municipality in the last year. Singer stressed the “great youth work” of the active firefighters. The firefighting pond in Vogelbach was fished out together with the fire brigade. However, the fact that excessive dredging of the village pond violated nature conservation, including the possible loss of spawning grounds, as happened this year, was only hinted at by the mayor. According to the mayor, firefighters also played a central role in the inauguration of the fire extinguishing tank in Marzell.

The expansion of broadband in the community is in the tens of millions, and is co-financed by the broadband association. Several families are connected and the city of Käsacker will soon follow. During the expansion, “a lot of things didn’t go smoothly,” but the added value prevailed, according to Singer. This would create numerous home office positions. He rated the renewal of the walls of the Vogelbach cemetery as a further success. The cemetery wall has been preserved as a biotope for species such as the wall lizard and the rare smooth snake.

That evening it became clear that water is a key issue for the community. Sanitation took place at the source of Meierskopf, one of the 38 springs of the community. One or two springs must be rehabilitated every year. The community is actually “rich in water”. According to the mayor, the municipality must provide valuable spring water to the Holebachverband by 2032 because the drinking water is contaminated with nitrates. The specialized clinic also fetches water. Other expensive activities were the refurbishment of the pumping station, the use of limescale filters and the replacement of the swimming pools, which were painted with paint containing PCBs. These sanitation measures would therefore have led to an increase in the “water rate”.

School and kindergarten are also key issues. This year, the question of enlargement, conversion or the construction of a new nursery was debated. Primary school has a new principal. The solution to school transport seems close at hand. So far, parents from the cities of Käsacker, Vogelbach, Kaltenbach and Lütchenbach have taken their children to school on the main line in Malsburg or even Marzell. Now, due to community protests, the district council has overturned the principle of economic efficiency, according to which the cheapest means of transport should be chosen when transporting elementary school students. According to the mayor, the city council now only has to accept funding for this supply transport from neighboring cities, so that the “Lex Malsburg-Marzell” then applies.

Finally, Mario Singer thanked the pastures association for keeping the landscape open, Johannes Beyerle for the cultural events in the old school building, Gmeistube Marzell for their activities and the Malsburg-Marzell player community for the success. organization of the anniversary. A Powerpoint presentation showed the impressions of the community, accompanied by songs by the Malsburg-Vogelbach men’s choir.
