Six-time world champion made Barcelona circuit worker happy after winning Spanish F1 Grand Prix
Lewis Hamilton is known for his determination and fierceness on the track, but the six-time Formula 1 world champion seems to have a generous soul.
The British superstar is currently 37 points clear at the top of the Drivers’ Championship, having won four of six races this season. The 35-year-old driver looks set to win what would be a seventh world title, which would place him at the same level as the great Michael Schumacher.
Hamilton isn’t giving up on the track with rivals who regularly suffer to find a way to pass the Briton, but he seems to be happy to give a few freebies once he gets out of his Mercedes.
After winning Sunday’s Spanish Grand Prix, Hamilton shared a video on his account Instagram Showing him surprising a maintenance worker with signed Mercedes merchandise.
The 35-year-old had seen her work while wearing a regular Mercedes F1 cap, but he decided to give her some special souvenirs as a reward for supporting her German team. In the video, the Briton can be seen signing one of his team’s special edition pink caps that he wore in Spain, before approaching the housekeeper to hand it to him.
The housekeeper seemed surprised at first, but was later delighted to receive an item signed by one of the biggest names in the sport.
The gesture earned Hamilton plenty of praise online, with a comment from a fan below: “It’s very kind of you to do this. I am sure you made his day, month and year ”.
Another replied: “More and more respect for you. You have a big heart ”.
Hamilton can now look forward to a rare weekend off after a hectic start to the season, with the next Formula 1 race taking place in Belgium on August 30.
