British Autosport writes that they have credible information that says that Lewis Hamiltonseven-time champion of Formula 1will run for Ferrari starting in 2025. Hamilton has been competing in Formula 1 since 2007. First he drove for McLaren where he won the World Championship title in 2008 and then in 2013 for Mercedes where he has won another six World Championship titles. Last year he signed a new multi-million contract with Mercedes over 2024 and 2025.

According to Autosport, however, there is a clause that says the second season in that contract is purely an option. The newspaper writes that Hamilton can therefore move to Scuderia Ferrari for next season.

Ferrari extended with Charles Leclerc last week, but is silent about Carlos Sainz whose contract expires after this year’s season.

According to the newspaper, neither Mercedes nor Ferrari wanted to comment on the information.

Short news about F1

Haas announced their 2024 reserve drivers today, Pietro Fittipaldi and Ollie Bearman. We can conclude that it was a bit of crappy timing and drowned in today’s news carousel…

Yesterday it was announced that Andretti will not be given the opportunity to compete in F1 2025, Formula 1 writes for example that it believes that the Andretti brand has more to gain from F1 than the other way around.

A look back in history shows that drivers who raced with the Andretti name have achieved the following successes:

F1 World Championship title in 1978, 12 GP wins, 18 pole positions and 20 podiums in Formula 1. Six wins in the Indy 500, one in the Daytona 500, nine titles in IndyCar, four in the IndyLights, two in the Daytona 24 Hours, 3 in NASCAR and a class victory in Le Mans 24 – among others.

Our colleagues at Viaplay and Podme have done a new series of interviews with racing stars who achieved success without competing in Formula 1. First up is Felix Rosenqvist.
